Buttonwood Campground presents a full schedule of organized weekend activities throughout the season, with fun events for all ages. Join in our ever-popular weekends like Water Wars and Hawaiian Luau, and experience some fun on new weekends like Let’s Make a Deal and Mystery Weekend. In addition to the many activities we have scheduled every weekend at Buttonwood Campground, we also offer exciting activities for a nominal fee through our Wristband Program, outlined below.

Our Wristband Program

Ages 4 and under are FREE.
Ages 5 and up (including adults)
from beginning of season to Memorial Day Weekend
and Labor Day Weekend to end of season (when there is no river tubing) are $15.00.
Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend are $20.00.
Children must be accompanied by a responsible family member over the age of 18 for river tubing.
The wristband is good for 7 consecutive days and allows for:

Unlimited Mini-Golf • Jumping Pillow • Pedal Carts • River Tubing • Laser Tag at Night • Water Wars

Mini-Golf

As shown, Mini-Golf may be purchased as part of our wristband program or by individual games. In addition, balloons for the Water Wars game are available for purchase at $1.00 per dozen or you can bring your own.

April 14-16 Buttonwood Opening Weekend / Easter Weekend  – Join us for an egg hunt and games. The Easter Bunny will be making an appearance Bring your voucher from the last weekend of the 2016 camping season and get your free night!
April 21-23 Let’s Make a Deal Weekend – We will be making all kinds of deals! Will you end up with a great prize or a Zonk?
April 28-30 Mystery Weekend – Come and join us for a fun weekend of mystery games. We can’t give away all the secrets to this mysterious weekend! Can you figure out all the clues?
May
May 5-7 South of the Border Weekend – What better place to celebrate Cinco de Mayo than in Mexico … Pennsylvania! Activities include a piñata and taco dinner. You bring the shells (hard or soft), and a side dish, and we provide the taco fillings. Best weekend for a siesta! Olé!
May 12-14 Mother’s Day Weekend – Pamper your mom this weekend. Join us for breakfast* on Saturday morning. Mothers eat free! We will have crafts for kids to make a gift for Mom!
May 19-21  Kids’ Carnival Weekend – Fun for kids of all ages with carnival activities! Do you know how to ride a bike? Do you know a thing or two about a rodeo? Then you need to try our annual bike rodeo!
May 26-29 Memorial Day Weekend – Come join us for a week filled with our annual Buttonwood 500 (see office for rules), hayrides, a horseshoe tournament, corn hole tournament, and lots of fun. Join us for a party Sunday evening. Entertainment will be provided by DJ Chris Hoffman, from Storm Entertainment.

June 2-4 Everything Chocolate Weekend – If you love chocolate, then this is the weekend for you! We will have an after-dark flashlight chocolate candy hunt, and a chocolate pudding slip and slide!
June 9-11 Wet N Wild Weekend 1 – Beat the summer heat by participating in activities such as our water gun battle at high noon and a wet hay wagon ride.
June 16-18 Father’s Day Weekend – Join us for a breakfast* on Saturday morning. Fathers eat free!
June 23-25 Hawaiian Luau Weekend – Break out your hula skirts and Hawaiian shirts. On Saturday evening we will be having a pool party. Decorate you site for the occasion. Prizes will be awarded!
July
June 30 - July 4 July 4th Weekend – Time to celebrate with our annual parade of the decorated hay wagon, kids’ bikes and golf carts, corn hole tournament, and our annual log burning! We will also be enjoying music with a DJ. Come celebrate our nation’s birthday with us!
July 7-9 Wet N Wild Weekend 2 – Beat the summer heat by participating in activities such as our water gun battle at high noon, a wet hay wagon ride, our ever-popular water bomb sling shot contest, and the build and float your cardboard boat contest (check with the office for rules). Be sure to bring your water weapons!
July 14-16 Western Weekend – This weekend is for those cowboys and cowgirls! Western style crafts and games! Yeehaw!
July 21-23 Christmas in July Weekend – Merry Christmas! Come join us as Santa stops by our Christmas party to deliver gifts to the kids. You bring the cookies, and we’ll provide the punch. (Parents, bring a wrapped gift for your child to the office by 3:00 PM on Saturday.) Decorate your site for the occasion. Prizes to be awarded. We will be doing our summertime snowball battle!
July 28-30 New Year’s Eve Weekend – What better time to have a family mid New Year’s Eve party than the weekend after Christmas in July? Come prepared for ice skating, kids and adults welcome! Enjoy a DJ at our New Year’s Eve Party and our annual camper drop!
August
August 4-6 Wet N Wild Weekend 3 – We had so much fun the first and second weekends that we want to do it again! We’ll have another water gun battle and a wet hay wagon ride. We will also have our sixth annual kayak obstacle course race. There will be two categories, ages 12-17 and 18-up. Come show us your kayak-maneuvering skills!
August 11-13 Oldies Weekend – Dig out your poodle skirt and bobby socks, slick back your hair, dance to the oldies, and enjoy root beer floats, hot dogs, and hand cut french-fries for $1.00 each. The DJ will be playing all of your favorite oldies to dance the night away! If you want, bring your old yearbooks, so we can see what you looked like then and now!
August 18-20 Pirate Weekend – Ahoy matey! Come join us for a weekend filled with all kinds of pirate activities, such as making pirate costumes, hunting for hidden treasures, sinking a pirate ship, and building a cardboard pirate ship to float on the Juniata River!
August 25-27 Renaissance Weekend – Come join all the peasants for our third Renaissance weekend! The main activity will be our third annual golf cart joust!
September
September 1-4 Labor Day Weekend – Come and enjoy the end of summer with us! Join us for a party and be entertained by DJ Chris Hoffman of Storm Entertainment. We will also have a horseshoe tournament, corn hole tournament, and lots of fun activities!
September 8-10 Juniata County Fair Weekend – The Juniata County Fair winds down on Saturday night with the Tuscarora 50 at the Port Royal Speedway nearby! We will also be having our own fun activities!
September 15-17 Chili Cook-Off Weekend – Chili cook-off and cornbread contest on Saturday! Prizes will be awarded for different categories. Not bringing chili? Then bring a side dish and we will all feast on chili, cornbread and other goodies! Yum!
September 22-24 Scare Crow Weekend – Do you know how to build a scarecrow? Well, we will be awarding prizes for the best scarecrow!
October
September 29 - October 1 Halloween Weekend 1 – Trick-or-treating and site decorating with prizes awarded are just a few of the fun things we will be doing this weekend. The first of five themed coffin races. You build your own coffin that must hold one adult and have the theme “Vampires.” See office for rules.
October 6-9 Halloween Weekend 2 / Columbus Day Weekend – Another haunted weekend! Trick-or-treating, site decorating contest (prizes awarded) and our second coffin race! You build your own coffin that must hold one adult and have the theme “Werewolves.” See office for rules.
October 13-15 Halloween Weekend 3 – Trick-or-treating through the campground. Decorate your site contest (prizes awarded). If you like the coffin race so much we are having it for a third weekend. You build your own coffin that must hold one adult and have the theme “Mummies.” See office for rules.
October 20-22 Halloween Weekend 4 - Just can’t get enough of Halloween? Then come back for another Halloween Weekend. Trick-or-treating! Decorate your site contest (prizes awarded). If you like the coffin race so much we are having it for a fourth weekend. You build your own coffin that must hold one adult and have the theme “ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE.” See office for rules.
October 27-29 Halloween Weekend 5 / Last Weekend of Season – One final weekend of Halloween fun! Trick-or-treating & site decorating contest (prizes awarded). The last weekend of coffin racing! You build your own coffin that must hold one adult and have the theme “Favorite Scary Movie Character.” Don’t forget to get your voucher for a free night on our opening weekend next year in 2018!
Every weekend from Memorial Day through Labor Day Weekend
we will have a kids’ craft, as well as a hayride on most weekends!
